The goal of ColorTris is to arrange the blocks in a way that clears as many lines as possible. Each game session starts with a unique arrangement of colored blocks. These blocks will move from the top of the screen and moving downward, after which the player must use certain keys to rotate and move them to the correct place. If a line is completed with the blocks, it will be cleared from the board and new blocks will replace it. The aim is to keep up with the pace of the blocks and maximize the number of lines cleared. To help players push the blocks to the correct place for optimal controls, bonus items such as boost blocks can be found randomly throughout the game.
The player will control the movement of the blocks with the arrow keys on the keyboard. The left and right arrow keys will move the block horizontally and the up arrow key can be used to rotate the block. Additionally, the space key can be used to soft drop the block quicker to the bottom, to make it easier to place the block in a hurry.
