Appel is a fascinating and highly addictive game, with simple yet highly challenging gameplay. The goal is to match as many blocks of the same type as possible to score points and progress through the levels. Even more exciting, Appel provides many power ups to spice up the action.
Appel is playable on both mouse and touchscreen devices. Below is an overview of the different controls.
The objective of the game is to eliminate as many blocks as possible by connecting three or more blocks of the same type. The main game area shows a board of blocks which are randomly arranged from the left to the right. Each turn, the player drags and moves the blocks of the same type to select a group. If the selected group consists of three or more blocks, the group will be eliminated and the blocks replaced with new ones. If the selected group consists of two blocks, the player will be given a power-up. The more blocks matched in the same selection, the higher the score.
As the game progresses, more levels will be unlocked as the player gains enough points to unlock them. Each level presents a new challenge, from speed based levels to time based ones. In addition, some levels may require the player to use a certain number of moves or eliminate all blocks with a specific colour.
